FIRST STEPS
Go to the Telecom Lab (2/1-046, from 8:00 to 18:00) in order
to replace your old SIM card

Go to Settings -> Connections -> More Networks -> Mobile
Networks -> Uncheck the option ”Data Roaming”
Go to Settings -> Connections -> More Networks-> Mobile
Networks -> Network Operators -> Search Networks ->
Sunrise
A wireless device needs to be registered in the IT database in
order to use the CERN Wi-Fi network. To register your
Samsung Galaxy:
1. On your computer, go to http://network.cern.ch/register
(login using your CERN account and password)
2. Select ‘Register Portable’ from the top menu bar
3. Enter the data
Usual Location : your office address (eg. 0031 R0012)
Manufacturer : Samsung
Model : Galaxy S5 (S5 mini)
Operating system : ANDROID
Op. Syst. Version : 4.4.2 (settings -> about device->
android version
Hardware Address : can be found by going to
Settings -> WIFI -> Settings -> MAC address
Card Type : Wireless
4. Connect to the Wi-Fi network : go to Settings -> Network
connections : WIFI.
Choose CERN Wi-Fi network and click on “connect”.
5. Restart your smartphone if needed
Click on Email icon and input your email address and password
Select: “Manual Setup”
Choose the option :“Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync”
E-mail address: your CERN e-mail address
Domain/ User name: <firstname>.<lastname>
eg: jean.dupont
Password: your Cern e-mail account password
Exchange Server: mmm.cern.ch
Make sure to have the data or WIFI on
* Please be aware that roaming calls and data transmissions are extremely expensive.
It is strongly recommended to block your GSM on the Sunrise network in order to avoid the unintentional
use of other operators’ networks and the associated roaming charges.

Demandez le remplacement de votre carte Sim au Labo Telecom
(2/1-046, de 8:00 à 18:00)

Cliquez sur Paramètres -> Connexions -> Plus de réseaux ->
Réseaux Mobiles -> Décocher l’option ”Itinérance”
Cliquez sur Paramètres -> Connexions -> Plus de réseaux ->
Réseaux Mobiles -> Opérateurs réseau : Choisir le réseau
Sunrise
Pour pouvoir utiliser le réseau Wifi CERN votre appareil doit
être enregistré dans la base de données IT.
Pour enregistrer un Samsung Galaxy:
1. Depuis un ordinateur, allez à http://network.cern.ch/register
(utilisez votre login Nice pour accéder à la page)
2. Sélectionnez « Register Portable » dans la barre de menu
3. Entrez les données suivantes :
Usual Location : adresse de bureau (ex. 0031 R-0012)
Manufacturer : Samsung
Model : Galaxy S5 (S5mini)
Operating system : ANDROID
Op. Syst. Version : 4.4.2 (paramètres -> à propos de
l’appareil)
Hardware Addresse : pour le trouver, cliquez sur
Paramètres -> WIFI -> Paramètres avancés->
Adresse MAC
Card Type : Wireless
4. Cliquez sur l’icône « Paramètres » de l’appareil.
Connexions : WIFI.
Choisissez le réseau « CERN » et cliquez sur « connexion »
5. Redémarrez l’appareil si besoin.
Cliquez sur l’icone « Email » et entrez l’e-mail et mot de passe
CERN
Sélectionnez: “Config manuelle”
Choisissez l’option :“Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync”
Adresse e-mail : votre e-mail CERN
Domaine \ Nom utilisateur: <prénom>.<nom>
ex: jean.dupont
Password: mot de passe du compte mail CERN
Serveur Exchange: mmm.cern.ch
Cochez : « Utiliser une connexion sécurisée (SSL) »
Il faut faire cette manœuvre ayant la connexion DATA ou le WIFI
activé
* Veuillez noter que les coûts des appels et des transmissions DATA en roaming sont extrêmement élevés!
Il est donc vivement recommandé de bloquer le mobile sur le réseau Sunrise pour éviter de basculer
involontairement sur un autre réseau et payer dès lors des frais de roaming.
