3 FR MISE EN MARCHE
3.1
Choix du fil et de la douille
En alliant l’électrode en tungstène à 1% à 2% de thorium ou de cerium, le refoulement d’électrons est amplifié, ce qui permet un meilleur amorçage, et, par là, une amélioration de la stabilité de l’arc. Les électrodes en tungstène avec un alliage ont une durée de vie supérieure, supportent des tensions plus importantes et ont moins tendance à provoquer des inclusions de tungstène dans la soudure.

Electrodes en tungstène pur (c.a.)
utilisées lors du soudage d’alliages en métaux légers. Le point de fusion est à environ 3400 _ C.
Electrodes en tungstène thorié (c.c.)
le plus souvent utilisées lors du soudage au d’acier inoxydable, d’acier, d’étain, de titane etc. Le point de fusion est à environ 4000 _ C.
Electrodes en tungstène avec un alliage en cerium (c.a/c.c)
utilisées lors du soudage au de métaux légers, tels l’aluminium et le magnésium.
Le point de fusion est à environ 3800 _ C.
Electrodes en tungstène avec un alliage en lantan (c.a./c.c)
utilisées lors du soudage au de en métaux légers
,
d’acier inoxydable, d’acier, d’étain, de titane etc. Le point de fusion est à environ 4200 _ C.
3.2
Affûter
Affûter l’électrode en tungstène en fonction du tableau ci--dessous.
NOTER
que l’électrode en tungstène doit être affûtée dans le sens de sa longueur.
Si l’affûtage est incorrect, l’arc peut s’avérer instable.
En augmentant le courant de soudage, il faut augmenter l’angle.
En soudage à courant alternatif, l’extrémité de l’électrode doit être légèrement arrondie, ce qui signifie obtient automatiquement la forme souhaitée lorsqu’elle est surchargée avec précaution. Si l’extrémité de l’électrode s’arrondie au cours du soudage à courant alternatif, cela signifie que le courant est trop fort pour le diaètre de l’électrode utilisée.

Ouvrir la gâchette et amorcer l’arc d’un léger frottement pour obtenir un courant de démarrage minimal.
Fig. 2 Un courant minimum est produit à l’ouverture de la gâchette. ce qui permet de trouver aisément le point de départ du soudage.
